New G-Med Service Goes Live

Gordon Parliamentarians Malcolm Bruce MP and Nora Radcliffe MSP are seeking feedback from constituents on the new G-Med Service which began on 1st November.

Speaking from her constituency office, Nora Radcliffe commented,

"I am aware that many people have outstanding concerns about how the new G-MED Service will operate, however, I am re-assured that NHS Grampian will be closely monitoring the service and any major problems can be dealt with swiftly.

"My colleague Malcolm Bruce MP and I are meeting with representatives from NHS Grampian later this month and I would very much appreciate feedback from constituents on the new service, whether positive or negative, which I can then relay to NHS Grampian."

Gordon Member of Parliament Malcolm Bruce added:

"It is vital that people understand the new GP Out Of Hours arrangements. Households in the NHS Grampian area should have received, or will shortly receive, a leaflet on how to use the new service. I would urge people to read this information carefully.

"It is important to note however that the new G-MED service covers out of hours GP services and that in a medical emergency you should still dial 999. In all other cases you should contact NHS 24 on 08454 24 24 24."
