Bruce 'wears it pink®' for Breast Cancer11.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 27th Oct 2006
The Gordon MP, Malcolm Bruce is joining forces with the Breast Cancer Campaign in its award winning 'wear it pink' day on Friday 27 October 2006 as part of breast cancer awareness month. Everyone is urged to make a donation of just £2 and then dress as brightly as they like- as long as it's pink! All donations will allow Breast Cancer Campaign to continue researching the cure and help those women diagnosed with breast cancer. Last year the "pinkies" who participated raised a staggering £1.69 million and this year's target is £2.1 million. Mr Bruce commented: "Every year over 13,000 people in the UK die from breast cancer. Some of them will be from the Gordon area which is why I'm proud to support the Breast Cancer Campaign's ''wear it pink' day. I'd ask everyone to encourage their family and friends to get involved too. Its great fun and the money raised will go towards valuable breast cancer research." To find out more or to register you can contact Breast Cancer Campaign by either freephone 0800 1073104; or visit www.wearitpink.co.uk where details of the free fundraising pack are given.
