The NFU's latest campaign wants more people to support Scottish farming and buy Scottish produce

Alison McInnes Liberal Democrat MSP and Malcolm Bruce MP for Gordon have added their signatures to the National Farmers Union (NFU Scotland) latest campaign 'What's on Your Plate'.

The 'What's on Your Plate' campaign was launched earlier this month to encourage more people to support Scottish farming and has already attracted well over 2,000 signatories from right across the country.

Alison McInnes said:

"I was delighted to be asked to help by NFU Scotland, and I fully support the 'What's on Your Plate' campaign. This summer I will be attending various agricultural shows across the region and am looking forward to meeting and talking with many North East farmers.

"By buying Scottish produce, North East residents can protect our local countryside in addition to helping reduce damaging 'food miles' incurred when buying similar products transported from the other side of the world."

Malcolm Bruce added:

"By looking out for Scottish produce, supporting local shops and buying fresh produce when in season, Gordon residents can support our local rural communities, our famous countryside and our tourism industry".
