Malcolm Bruce has welcolmed the election of Nick Clegg as the new Liberal Democrat leader

Gordon Liberal Democrat MP Malcolm Bruce welcomed the election of Nick Clegg as leader of the Liberal Democrats.

Mr Bruce said:

"I have long thought Nick had strong leadership qualities. He was well received in Aberdeen during the campaign."

"The people of Scotland have strong liberal instincts and traditions. I am sure many of them will respond enthusiastically to his engaging, direct and thoughtful approach."
